Shiurey Torah literally means «Torah lessons»; and initially, it was a network of public Torah lessons for all Jews. Such lessons have been created, the teachers were found, people were invited to these lessons and in such a way they were able to get help in adapting to the Jewish life more easily and quickly. It was the network of such lessons what eventually created communities in Kyiv and Dnipro.

The community movement created by Dan Makogon and Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetsky has subsequently grown into a big systemic organization, on the basis of which «Shiurey Torah Lubavitch» Charity Fund was created in 2013.

The community movement created by Dan Makogon and Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetsky has subsequently grown into a big systemic organization, on the basis of which «Shiurey Torah Lubavitch» Charity Fund was created in 2013.

Their principal task is dealing not only with the matters of pumping up the budget, but also with the promotion of Jewish way of life on their own example. These people are the «blood» of our organization.

On the other hand, the «bones and muscles» is our Directors Board. They move us forward and diligently develop new areas of activity.

The Chairman of the Directors Board is Dan Makogon. His deputies and the heads of branches in Kyiv and Dnipro are Aryeh Nizevich and Elisha Pavlotsky respectively. Also on the Directors Board are Yosef Masakovsky (head of educational programs) and Moshe Kolomoitsev (head of youth programs).

We actively strive to establish permanent branches and programs that work on a permanent basis in all major cities of Ukraine. Apart from that, there is a significant quantity of Ukrainian Jews in Moscow, for whom our branch could become a point of connection with their small motherland. We know that there are strategic points and cities in Europe where there is a lot of Russian-speaking population and so there is a heavy demand on our work: Vienna, Berlin, etc. A great quantity of Russian-speaking youth is also present in New York, and we could serve a useful purpose for them too!

And, of course, Israel: Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv and their suburbs.

We see our development in improving our cooperation with international organizations and institutions on different projects and programs for children.

Shiurey Torah has already started working with powerful Chabad projects, CKids and СTeens, which are dealing with the same area as we are: youth, students and children. We are currently immersing in this network as their subsidiary in Ukraine, and actively develop this partnership.

Our camps, Sonya’s Camp and Gan Yisroel, are currently the best camps for girls and boys respectively. In the near future we are planning to dedicate more time and funds to create our camp which Jewish organizations could use jointly as a field for realization of any wide-scale projects

We want thousands and thousands of children to get vacation and education in the STL system camps!
